Two Stoneware Jars with Stenciled Cobalt Numerals, attributed to A.P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, WV, circa 1880, both of cylindrical form with tooled shoulders and semi-rounded rims, featuring geometric stenciling and the stenciled numbers 1 and 2 denoting gallonage. One-gallon jar with a tiny chip to interior of rim, a 1 1/4" in-the-firing rim chip on reverse, nicks to shoulder molding, and mottling to surface. Two-gallon jar in very nice condition with light surface wear and some clay residue to top of rim. H (of taller) 11 1/4".
