Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Wheeling, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1880, ovoid jug with tooled spout, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "SCHAEFER & DRIEHORST / WINE LIQUORS / 1428 MAIN ST / WHEELING. W.VA." Stenciled fern motifs above. Very nice condition with some light wear to cobalt and in-the-firing flaws, including glazed-over chipping to underside along edge, a salt drip to base, and in-the-firing dryness to surface. H 9 3/4".
