Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Wheeling, WV Advertising, Palatine, WV or Western PA origin, circa 1875, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with the stenciled advertising, "LOUIS P FROBE / WINES AND LIQUORS / 1041 MARKET ST / WHEELING W VA." Base with a stenciled "2" flanked by vine stenciling, underscored by a freehand stripe. Traces of a black-painted X on right side. Light surface wear. A small chip to top of spout. H 14 1/2".
