Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Double-Bird Decoration, Stamped "S. HART / FULTON," NY State origin, mid 19th century, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of crossed birds accented with dashes, beside the number "2." Slip-trailed accents to maker's mark. Excellent condition with streaks of staining. Very nice condition with mostly minor flaws. A 2 3/4" hairline from side of spout. A tiny nick to spout. Some bubbling to cobalt. A small in-the-firing contact mark to side of jug. A small base chip on reverse. Faint crazing to underside. H 13".
