Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N, FURMAN, NO, 39, PECK, SLIP, NY," Noah Furman, Cheesequake Creek, NJ, circa 1845-1855, cylindrical jar with curved collar, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with two elongated flowers emanating from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Reverse inscribed "2" in cobalt. Two chips to interior of rim. Chips and wear to inner rim for lid. A few short vertical lines to base area. A tight 3 1/4" spider line to underside. H 12".
