Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. NORTON & CO / BENNINGTON VT;" circa 1860, cylindrical jug with tapered spout, decorated with a bold, slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a branch. Cobalt accents to maker's mark and capacity mark. Restoration to base area on left side. Restored handle. A small spout chip. A small in-the-firing ping to right of bird. H 13 3/4".
