Two-Gallon Wheeling, WV Stoneware Advertising Jar, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "From / R.J. SMYTH. / Grocer, / Wheeling. / W. VA." Freehand stripe decoration to shoulder and base. Base with freehand "2" flanked by dashes. A 7/8" chip to underside at edge. Some light staining. Minor surface wear. H 12 1/4".
