Two-Gallon Manganese-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Signed "GNF," George Newman Fulton, Alleghany County, VA, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, featuring the brushed inscription, "2 / GNF," flanked by floral motifs. Decorated above and below with swag and fern-like motifs. Excellent condition with a minor rim nick, minor wear to decoration, and a small in-the-firing contact mark to reverse. H 11 1/2".
