Two Two-Gallon Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "A.O. WHITTEMORE / HAVANA. N.Y.," circa 1870, both of squat-shaped, semi-ovoid form with applied lug handles and rounded rims, one with a slip-trailed daisy motif, flanked by 2's, the other with brushed and slip-trailed tulip motif, flanked by 2's. Daisy jar in excellent condition with minor chipping to interior of rim and a small, glazed-over chip to one handle. Other jar in very nice condition with residue from use to surface, a chip to interior of rim, and a nick to inner rim for lid. Lid with large loss from edge and an edge chip. H 9 7/8".
