Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, NY State origin, third quarter 19th century, a two-gallon ovoid jug with slip-trailed leaf decoration, stamped "JOHN BURGER. / ROCHESTER," paired with a two-gallon cylindrical jug with bold slip-trailed floral motif, stamped "F.A. GALE / GALES-VILLE.N.Y." Burger jug with staining, a 2 3/4" line on underside extending 4 1/4" diagonally at base on side of jug, and some in-the-firing chipping to bottom edge. Gale jug with a 2 3/4" line on underside, continuing 1 1/4" up reverse, a 1 1/4" line at base on front, a 3" spider crack from spout, a large and small spout chip, salt residue to interior of spiut, and two small handle chips. H (of Burger jug) 14 3/4".
