Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Reclining Dog Decoration, attributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville, NY, circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a dog with turned head and curled tail, perched on a stylized hill, flanked by shrubs. Restoration to rim on reverse. Restored top-to-bottom crack from rim on reverse, forming an unrestored crack across underside. A minor rim chip. A 6 1/2" hairline descending from shoulder to right of decoration. Staining throughout. H 11 3/8".
