Southern Stoneware Face Jug, probably GA origin, early 20th century, ovoid jug decorated with an applied clay face including eyes with pierced pupils, nose with pierced nostrils, small ears, crooked mouth with numerous broken-china teeth, and incised mustache and beard. Surface covered in a streaky Albany slip glaze. Provenance: Recently surfaced in Virginia. Very nice condition with shallow chipping along one ear and minor chipping to opposite ear. H 6 1/2".
