Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS, / MANUFACTURER. / NEW-YORK.," Manhattan, NY origin, circa 1815, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a brushed stylized drape motif around the shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Two large in-the-firing base chips on front. Some light surface wear to side of jug. H 13".
