Scarce Glazed Redware Teapot with Lid, PA or Western MD origin, early to mid 19th century, ovoid pot with nine-sided spout, coggled embellishments, and unusual impressed floral motif around midsection, the surface covered in a reddish-brown lead-and-manganese glaze. Includes original glazed lid. Provenance: Property deaccessioned by the Miller House Museum, Hagerstown, MD. Rim chips. Two small chips and wear to spout. A minor fleck of glaze loss to handle. Minor edge wear to lid. H (of top of lid) 5 3/4".
