Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Harrisburg, PA Stoneware, circa 1865-1885, a one-gallon lidded jar with "spitting tulip" motif, stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG PA," circa 1865; paired with a two-gallon jug with stenciled diamond design, stamped "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG." Jar with staining to surface as well as chips to rim and inner rim for lid. Lid with exfoliation. Jug in excellent condition with an in-the-firing base chip and a small in-the-firing chip below decoration. H (of jar, excluding lid) 9 1/2".
