Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Tulip Decoration, NJ origin, circa 1835, ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with a large, boldly-brushed tulip extending up the front. Additional brushwork to base of handle. Exceptional color. Very nice condition with only in-the-firing flaws: a small in-the-firing base chip, two in-the-firing lines to base area, and an in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder on each side. H 14 1/2".
