One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Inscribed "one," NJ origin, circa 1830, bowl-shaped jar with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated on one side with the slip-trailed gallonage inscription, "one," and on the opposite side with slip-trailed scrolled line and foliate motifs. A 3" firing crack to interior, not visible on exterior. A glazed-over rim chip. Some staining. H 6 7/8" ; Diam. (across top) 8 1/2".
