Exceptional Two-Gallon Stoneware Cooler with Profuse Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "M.C. WEBSTER & SON / HARTFORD," CT origin, circa 1840-1857, cylindrical, jug-form cooler with circular bunghole, squared spout, and applied handle, lavishly-decorated throughout with various brushed floral and swag motifs. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, handle terminals, and area surrounding bunghole. A 1 3/8" shallow flake to underside of bunghole. A shallow 1" in-the-firing chip to side of spout. H 13 3/4".
