Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Stylized Cobalt Decoration, Stamped "S.L. PEWTRESS & CO. / FAIR HAVEN CONN," circa 1875, ovoid pitcher with tooled midsection and large rim molding, the front decorated with a stylized slip-trailed design resembling a turnip. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1 1/4" line from rim on side pitcher. An in-the-firing salt drip to side of pitcher and handle. Some light fry to cobalt. H 12 1/4".
