Unusual Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Canning Jar with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with wax sealer rim, decorated with four brushed cobalt stripes. Slightly-recessed underside. Rare glaze treatment, occasionally seen in the work of A.P. Donaghho of Parkersburg, but not in the Greensboro / New Geneva tradition. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 6 1/8".
