One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Stenciled Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NORTH.BAY.," John C. Waelde, North Bay, NY, circa 1860, cylindrical jug with rounded spout, decorated with a stenciled design of a songbird standing atop a stylized ground, all applied with a sponge. Sponged cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Classic North Bay decorative treatment. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
