Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Beaver, PA origin, circa 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large brushed flowering vine design, applied over a whitish slip coating. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A Y-shaped hairline on underside, continuing onto base/midsection of front in two places. A 3" in-the-firing contact mark to reverse.
