Rare Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Dated 1865, attributed to A.P. Donaghho, Fredericktown, PA, 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled accents to shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and ribbed lug handles, decorated at the midsection with the cobalt date, "1865," between freehand stripes. Shoulder decorated with a number 3 within a border, flanked by dashes. Freehand wavy stripe below rim. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Significant, crude restoration throughout.
