Five-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Offord & Federer, West Brownsville, PA, circa 1860-1862, semi-ovoid jar with tooled accents, semi-rounded rim, and ribbed lug handles, decorated with a flowering vine design, freehand straight and wavy stripes, and a freehand "5" flanked by dashes. Long, thin spider crack from rim. Two thin 7" cracks from rim on right side of jar. A 3/4" rim chip on side of jar. A 3/8" chip to interior of rim. A spider crack at base on reverse. A few small chips to right handle. A small chip to left handle.
