Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Trumpet Flower Decoration, Uniontown, PA origin, circa 1865, cylindrical jar with semi-rounded rim and tooling to midsection and shoulder, the front decorated with two brushed trumpet flowers, conjoined at the stem. A large cobalt-script "2" below. Freehand stripes to shoulder and midsection. Classic Uniontown decoration. A recessed in-the-firing contact mark to right of decoration, including a small surface chip. Two in-the-firing salt drips to front. An X-shaped hairline to shoulder on front, part of which extends onto left side of jar.
