Rare One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. SWANK & CO. / JOHNSTOWN, PA.," circa 1870, ovoid pitcher with flared collar and tooled rim, the front decorated with a sweeping, flowering vine. Foliate decoration to collar and swag decoration flanking the spout. Brushed floral motif to lower handle terminal and cobalt highlight to upper terminal. Significant restoration to collar. A restored crack from rim on reverse, extending onto underside.
