Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. WEAVER," Beaver, PA origin, circa 1865, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an undulating vine bearing open-centered tulips and graduated leaves, applied over a slip-coated surface. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark and handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
