Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, attributed to Van Schoick & Dunn, Middletown Point, NJ, circa 1855, a cylindrical one-and-a-half-gallon jar with stylized floral motif, inscribed "1 1/2", paired with a two-gallon ovoid jar with stylized two-stemmed tulip motif, inscribed "2". Cylindrical jar in excellent condition with a short, in-the-firing surface line at base on reverse, not visible on interior, and some water glass staining to interior. Ovoid jar in excellent condition with a sliver-shaped in-the-firing contact mark to reverse and some minor flakes to top of rim, possibly in-the-firing.
