Glazed Redware Syrup Jug, PA or New England origin, circa 1840-1880, squat-shaped jug with rounded shoulder and flared opening with pinched spout, the surface decorated with bold streaks of manganese against a greenish lead-glazed ground. Appealing color. Small base chips. Some exfoliation to underside. Two pieces of adhered clay (in-the-firing contact marks) to surface. H 8 1/2".
