Five-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "JAMES HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO. / PA.", circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring James Hamilton & Co. maker's stenciling, along with freehand stripes, stylized stenciled designs, and a stenciled "5" with flourishes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Two rim chips. A minor in-the-firing ping to right handle. Some minor surface wear.
