Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN. OTTMAN & CO. / FORT EDWARD N.Y.", circa 1875, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a floral spray. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Fry to cobalt. Two salt drips to front. Two spout chips. An in-the-firing iron ping on right side, including four short lines extending from it. A small piece of in-the-firing adhered clay at base on reverse.
