One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA", NY State origin, circa 1870, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with slip-trailed design of a fan-tailed bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. As-made condition with a 7/8" in-the-firing surface chip near base on front and an in-the-firing contact mark to top of handle.
