Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration, attributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville. NY, circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a chicken pecking kernels of corn from a stylized ground. Very nice condition with a shallow chip to left handle, two shallow chips to right handle, some light drips of staining to reverse, a 3 3/4" surface line to reverse, not visible on interior, and a small in-the-firing iron ping to shoulder on reverse.
