Unusual Five-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Water Cooler with Cobalt "1863" Date, Northeastern U.S. origin, 1863, keg-form cooler with tooled and cobalt-highlighted banding and circular bung hole, also with cobalt highlights, the front featuring the large Civil-War-era date, "1863", in brushed cobalt. Several chips to interior of rim. Three rim chips to reverse. Two small black crayon number notations on reverse as well as two crayon notations on underside. H 15 1/2".
