Rare One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Pike Run, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, ovoid jug with tooled spout, featuring the stenciled cobalt rye whiskey advertising, "Z. & J. BOYL. / PURE RYE / PIKE RUN, PA"., surrounding a small stenciled design. Provenance: Collection of Harry Meyer, McDonald, PA. Excellent condition with a minor chip to molding at base of spout and two small in-the-firing contact marks / surface chips to shoulder.
