Fine Six-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Bold Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "R.W. RUSSELL", Beaver, PA origin, circa 1860, semi-ovoid churn with raised shoulder molding and applied lug handles, decorated with a large undulating vine bearing swags and three fuchsia blossoms, all applied over slip-coated clay. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. A beautifully potted and decorated example of Beaver, PA stoneware. Very nice condition. A 3 1/2" salt drip descending from front terminal of left handle. A very tight, diagonal 8 1/2" extending from base. Two chips to interior of rim. Minor chips to inner rim for lid. H 17".
