Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, ovoid pitcher with footed base, rounded rim, and tooling to shoulder and collar, decorated with two brushed tulips extending up the front. Collar decorated with graduated swags. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: From a Virginia estate. A very long, inverted Y-shaped crack from rim on reverse, which forms a "J" below handle. A long J-shaped crack descending from spout on front. A smooth 5/8", circular piece of adhered clay on front.
