Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Stamped "BROWN POTTERY", Arden, NC, circa 1930, ovoid jug with applied facial features including a pronounced nose, wavy mouth, and incised details to eyes and pupils, the surface covered in a dark-brown Albany slip glaze. Underside impressed "BROWN POTTERY" in small font. Broken into pieces and reglued. Missing handle with small hole at lower handle terminal. This jug was made with a single china tooth, which has been broken off. Losses to bottom edge of nose. Chips to ears. Two small chips to mouth. One spout chip. Tiny chips along crack lines. H 7 3/8".
