Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Syrup Jug with Cobalt Parrot Decoration, Stamped "FORT EDWARD / POTTERY CO", New York State origin, circa 1859, cylindrical jug with flared and pinched pouring spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested parrot perched on a leaf accented with spots. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Restoration to spout, including a shallow, painted-over flake. A minor chip to underside at edge.
