Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Stamped "T.R WADDELL", Alleghany County, VA origin, circa 1850, approximately one-gallon ovoid jar with distinctive stepped rim, impressed with the maker's mark, "T.R. WADDELL". Two vertical in-the-firing surface lines to base area, not visible on interior. A short spider line from rim. The "T" in "T.R. WADDELL" is not visible, as is the abbreviation, "Va.", typically seen below the name.
