Fine One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Signed "G.N. Fulton", Alleghany County, VA, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with heavily-tooled shoulder and flattened rim, the front decorated with a hanging floral motif surrounded by various flourishes, underscored by the cobalt-script name, "G.N. Fulton", inscribed between a row of swags and a row of dashes. Base with brushed leaf or stem motif. Excellent condition with small chips to interior of rim.
