Two Pieces of Stoneware with Cobalt Bird Decoration, New York State origin, third quarter 19th century, a two-gallon jar with double-bird motif, stamped "S. HART / FULTON"; paired with a four-gallon crock with decoration of a bird on looping flourish, stamped "NEW YORK STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.". Hart jar with exfoliation to surface, chips to one handle, heavy chipping to opposite handle, tight lines to underside, and chips and wear to inner rim where a lid would rest. New York Stoneware Co. crock with scattered exfoliation to base, rim and base chips, a 1 1/2" line from rim on front, and a small chip to one handle.
