Rare and Fine Stoneware Canning Jar with Profuse Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Stenciled "James Hamilton & Co.", Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded wax sealer rim, decorated with eight freehand stripes and diagonal James Hamilton maker's stenciling at the center. Excellent decoration. As-made condition with three smooth, in-the-firing chips to bottom edge, measuring 2", 1 1/4", and 3/8". H 7".
