Two-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Philadelphia, PA origin, circa 1840, cylindrical cooler with tooled shoulder, ribbed lug handles, and circular bunghole, decorated on the front and reverse with an elaborate flowering vine design. Chainlink decoration under each handle. Cobalt highlights to bunghole and handle terminals. Some in-the-firing bloated spots to surface. A restored chip to each handle. Large Y-shaped hairline on underside. A tiny nick to bunghole. A minor area of wear to rim. A minor glazed-over base chip. A glazed-over stone ping to reverse.
