One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry H. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1835, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed two-stemmed flowering plant bearing fan-shaped blossoms. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals, along with a wavy cobalt line under each handle. Excellent form. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
