Very Rare Westerwald Stoneware Bottle with Habsburg Armorial Medallion, Dated 1598, 17th century, wheel-thrown form with footed based, four flattened sides, and pewter mouth with threaded lid. Two sides with relief design of a double-headed eagle with "1598" date and crown above, and two sides with relief designs of a bust. Additional impressed motifs throughout. Surface with heavy cobalt highlights. Pewter lid includes impressed "W". Excellent form and decoration. Excellent condition with a cut rectangular opening in top of lid. H 7 3/4".
