One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Stenciled Cobalt Decoration, Stamped "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG," Pennsylvania origin, circa 1880, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a stylized stenciled design resembling a snowflake. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Very nice condition with a spout nick, some light mottling to clay, and an in-the-firing iron ping to reverse.
