One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1825, ovoid jar with tab handles, decorated with a large foliate vine design extending around the circumference of the jar. Additional cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent color. Tight hairlines on underside, one of which continues 5" up side of jar, and another, which continues 1" up base of jar. 1 1/2" rim chip on side of jar. Two chips to end of one handle. Minor in-the-firing base wear.
