Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to William Morgan, possibly with Thomas Amoss, Baltimore, MD, circa 1820, ovoid jar with nicely-footed base, semi-rounded rim, and applied tab handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a finely slip-trailed design of a sweeping vine with flower at center. Chipping to base, some of which occurred in the firing. A glazed-over ping to shoulder. A small handle chip.
