Scarce Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Slip-Trailed Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to William Morgan and Thomas Amoss, Baltimore, circa 1820, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied tab handles, decorated on both sides with a boldly slip-trailed design of a daisy flanked by leafy stems. Excellent color. Approximately 3 1/2" salt drip to one side. Large cracks on same side, continuing to underside, one of which additional runs horizontally along side of jar at base.
